Dreaming of an authentic trip to Greece? Skiathos and the Sporades archipelago open their doors to you. Enjoy unspoilt islands and let yourself be carried away by the beauty of the scenery.
The Sporades are a small archipelago to the north and east of the island of Evia. It comprises eleven islands, four of which are uninhabited. The four main ones, Skiathos, Skopelos, Alonissos and Skyros, are very green. You’ll find small coves ideal for swimming and charming villages with monasteries and Venetian towers. Alonissos and Skyros, further south and much harder to reach, are still very wild and have retained their natural beauty.
Skiathos is the most popular island of the Sporades, a chain of small islands scattered in the Aegean Sea to the east of Pelion. Although it starts to attract the most curious visitors in summer, it still has a very traditional character in its verdant surroundings. The thick forest is well protected, and the sea is particularly pure and crystal-clear. Above all, it’s the superb sandy beaches bordered by abundant vegetation that will make you dream. The neighboring islands, which are more difficult to access, have the same features, but with a more pronounced wilderness feel.
This is also the island where the famous musical “Mamma mia”, starring Meryl Streep and featuring songs by the Swedish group Abba, was filmed.
